This coffee was born in Chelchele, a small community within Gedeb, in southern Ethiopia’s Gedeo Zone a land known for its sweet, aromatic naturals.
Here, hundreds of small farmers bring their harvest to a shared site where each cherry is sorted, floated, and slowly sun-dried. This microlot was crafted with extra care the cherries sealed and left to ferment gently for several days before drying, letting the fruit’s natural sugars bloom into something soft and complex.
Ethiopian Coffee, the local processor and exporter, works closely with these growers prefinancing harvests, offering meals, and ensuring fair, steady work during the busy season. Their approach is one of respect, comunidad, and craft.
The result is a coffee that carries the soul of Gedeb bright, floral, and alive with the rhythm of the highlands.
