Finca La Hermosa began in 2011, when Max Fernando Pérez Ríos and his wife, Claudia, chose to grow both traditional Guatemalan varieties and the then-untested Gesha. Max sourced his first Gesha seeds from Panama, grounding what would become the farm’s signature offering.

Their Gesha went on to win 1st place in their region for seven consecutive years. A few years ago, they expanded that vision, planting several thousand more Gesha trees from Panama, Colombia, Tanzania, and Ethiopia. This year marks the first major harvest from that investment.

With about 70 percent traditional varieties and 30 percent exotics, La Hermosa now balances dependable volume with higher-value lots that offer more stability. More than profit, the goal is partnership—providing consistently exceptional coffees for roasters who want to build something lasting.

The Gesha Micro-Lot Series reflects a shared commitment between Finca La Hermosa and Collaborative Origins Imports to support producers through diversification and strengthen long-term relationships across the supply chain.
